            Anni Muhlegg, BSW, RSW

            Picture
Anni is a registered social worker who holds a BA in Social Work (Honours) from University of Victoria and is the founder of Whispering Herd. Anni has been connected to the realm of the Equine for 30 years and has always felt an intimate kinship with the natural world.
Prior founding Whispering Herd, Anni managed for 8 years 5 Star retreat center Willow Point Lodge  and accommodated over 9,500 travellers from around the Globe.
Anni's experience with horses has expanded from learning foundational principles of classical equitation, cross-country jumping, endurance trail riding, to include ancient natural horsemanship principles and more recently to practice equine- assisted facilitation & counseling.
Anni's  practice is based in safe, respectful and ethical principles. Her strenght-based facilitation is heart and body-centered and she is committed to the transformative journey she is privileged to share with clients, horses and other allies. Her view of health is a dynamic process that involves balance, interconnectedness, spaciousness, right relationships and compassion. Anni is fluent in both French and English.
In addition to her private practice, Anni works as the Kootenay Boundary Aboriginal Health Navigator/Liaison. In this role she supports First Nation individuals and families to access culturally competent and safe Health care services.

Tamrah is a thoroughbred, quarter horse cross 19 year young mare. When she is not co-facilitating a session, she loves to rest, play and explore the local trails with Anni. In the summer she loves to swim and graze by the river.

            Three Winds Sunhawk
Sunhawk was gifted to us by a friend entrusting us with his care and retirement. He loves to engage. We feel so priviledge to be his custodians. Amongst some of his many qualities, he is so generous, patient and compassionate.

            Major (aka Don Giovanni)
Newest member of our small herd. He is keen to engage and very courageous. We are very grateful to his previous custodian Robin for entrusting him with us.

            Kali
Kali is our 14 year of age Husky cross border collie companion. We adopted him from the local shelter 10 years ago. He is an amazing friend. He has traveled extensively on both land water. We appreciate his immense patience, love, compassion and presence. He has an instant calming effect and holds lots of wisdom. Luke
Luke is a mischievious, fun, loving 3 year young Kuvasz who used to wonder the neighborhood in search of belonging and love. We mutually adopted each other in 2008 and are now cultivating a reciprocal loving respectful relationship. Luke is a master teacher for respectful assertiveness, boundaries training and playfulness.
